Looking for a few good reads

I’m fairly easy to please as a reader, so imagine my surprise that I haven’t truly loved any book I’ve read over the past few months. I’ve read contemporaries, paranormals, historicals, urban fantasies, mysteries, and more, but I’ve had no luck on finding something that’ll make me jump up and down with excitement. Rather than beat my head against the wall in frustration (my characters make me do that often enough), I’m putting the question out to the blogosphere.

What books positively knocked you off your feet this year?

  1. I was thrilled with my local book store find of Sharon Ashwood's Ravenous. I gave it a 5/5 and reviewed it on my site. I was so happy with it, I emailed the author. I really enjoyed it. It's a great mix of the supernatural but it features a witch heroine and a vampire hero. It was very well done and I highly recommend it.

  2. Hi Riley! I really like the layout of your blog!
I thin Kresley Cole's Demon From The Dark was a great read this year, as was anything by the fabulous Nalini Singh.
    Good luck in 2011!!
    Cheers,
    Lami

  3. Hmm. Some stuff I've read that you haven't. Well, I'll know on Tuesday if I can recommend my absolute favorite series. Other than that, I enjoyed Nalini's stuff. Meljean Brook's The Iron Duke. Oh! And Lynn Kurland. I think you'd like her.

  4. Thanks for the recommendations guys!!!

Nicole - I looked for Ravenous and it's not available on Kindle, so I'll have to look for it during my next bookstore run. It's on the top of my TBB list.

MM - Thanks so much! I'm one book behind in the Psy-Changeling series and embarrassingly behind on the Immortals After Dark series. I have them all, if that counts ;)

Angela - I've read Meljean's Guardian series and the beginning of her Iron Seas series, but TID is in my TBR still. Lynn Kurland I know I read forever ago, but I'll have to try her again.
