Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage is now available!!!

I can't believe how fast time is flying this year. It seems like I just finished writing Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage, but it released today at Loose Id! Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage is an erotic male/female contemporary romance that takes place during Thanksgiving and Hanukkah, so it's fitting the story releases when the two holidays are just around the corner.

Anaya and Devlin's story was a lot of fun for me to write. It's sexy, mischievous, fun, and poignant. Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage also happens to be the first story in my Emerald Valley series. I had intended Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage to be a standalone...but, well, the town of Emerald Valley took on a life of its own and there are a number of characters in my head demanding stories of their own. So as soon as I finish the Seattle Marauders story I'm working on, I'll be writing the prequel to Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage.

I hope you all have as much fun reading Naya and Devlin's romance as I had writing it.

Happy Holidays,
Riley

Cover and book blurb:

Most women wouldn't mind waking up to find six feet of perfectly-defined male muscle cooking for them. Then again, Anaya Bancroft isn't most women. She's the innkeeper and co-owner of Emerald Valley Bed & Breakfast and it's only pure desperation -- and a complete lack of ability in the kitchen -- that have her turning to her ex for help with the B&B's biggest event of the year. Devlin Levi may be a famous chef, but he broke Naya's heart once and she's not about to let him do it again. Devlin is welcome in her kitchen, but that's it.

At least, that was the plan.

Devlin has a plan of his own, one that could change everything. He wants Naya to give him eight nights. Eight nights of unbridled passion, eight sexual fantasies explored and fulfilled, eight chances to prove they're made for each other. If, at the end of their time together, Naya still believes they can't make a relationship work, the two of them will part -- for good. It's a bargain Naya can't resist, even though she fears it will end in heartbreak.

Then again, a lot can happen in eight nights...

Cover Love: Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage

My, how time has flown. It's a little over a week until Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage releases at Loose Id.

Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage is a reunion romance that takes place during Thanksgiving and Hanukkah. It's bright, it's fun, it's sexy, and the talented Mina Carter has designed a cover that reflects just that. Check out the cover and blurb for Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage below:

October already? Updates and October Sweepstakes!

2012 has practically flown by in a flurry of work. I can’t believe it’s time to decorate for Halloween already!

I hope everyone is having a lovely fall (or spring, depending on your hemisphere). Here in Northern California, I’m still waiting for the weather to catch up with the calendar.

I’m afraid I don’t have much in the way of book news to report. I’m hard at work on Hat Trick (Seattle Marauders #2.5) which will take readers back to Tahoe for a visit with Kyle and Nate (of Two-Man Advantage). Kyle’s got a bit of a surprise planned for his lover, and if you’ve read In the Penalty Box, you’ll know what that surprise is ;)

I’m also very excited to announce the release date for Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage, my erotic contemporary holiday romance. Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage will release November 13th at Loose Id!

Speaking of holidays, with Halloween approaching it seemed to be the perfect time to do a giveaway of my male/male erotic Halloween romance, The Taste of Magick. Jason and Travis’s romance was my very first published story and it has a very special place in my heart. So, if you’d like to win a copy of The Taste of Magick, read the rules below and enter for your chance to win!

**SWEEPSTAKES HAS ENDED**

About The Taste of Magick:

Warlock Jason Prescott hates Halloween with a passion. His boyfriend, Travis Byrne, loves it with equal fervor. When Halloween time rolls around, the couple’s relationship hits its breaking point. In order to save it, Jason will have to learn to open up, step outside his comfort zone, and show Travis how much he means to him. With the help of a little magick, Jason will deliver a Halloween surprise that turns into a bewitchingly erotic night neither he nor Travis will ever forget.

Book News: Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage

Happy Friday everyone!

I hope everyone’s having a wonderful summer (or winter, depending on your hemisphere). I’m trying my best to stay cool in the 100+ heat here in California. The Fuzzy Critic seems to have taken up permanent residence on the air conditioning vent.

Speaking of heat, I’ve got a new erotic romance coming out this year! Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage is a male/female contemporary romance set around the holidays and I estimate it will be released this November at Loose Id. Given the title, it’s no surprise that you can expect plenty of bondage and erotic fantasies from Devlin and Naya’s book. To clear up any potential confusion ahead of time, Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage isn’t a D/s book. (I don’t want to disappoint anyone looking for BDSM. The story has B and other kinks, just no DSM ;).)

I’ll be giving out more details on Bed, Breakfast, and Bondage over the next few months. Right now, I still have to finish writing it O_O

And just a heads up for the Seattle Marauders fans out there: Hat Trick (Seattle Marauders #2.5) is still in the works :)

Happy Reading,
Riley

Father's Day Stories from MLR Press

Alas, I've been busy with work and haven't had much time to update (or write, for that matter). I am, however, hard at work on the third International Relations story, a Seattle Marauders short story, and a sci-fi book. While I can't give a lot of details on my current projects, I am excited to announce a few other authors' upcoming releases.

I love a good holiday story and next Friday (June 15th), MLR Press is releasing six Father's Day stories. Check out what Diana DeRicci, K-Lee Klein, Anna Lee, N.J. Nielsen, Neil Plakcy, and George Seaton have in store for readers:

The Good LifeChad Rarig and Sonny Phillips have been friends since skinned knees and after school homework. Life is pretty normal, if a bit bland for Chad, until he recieves a phone call that changes the rest of his entire life. With Sonny's strong shoulder in friendship and his mother's support, he cautiously embraces his fate, one that includes binkies and an utter loss of sleep.

Sonny offers a chance to let Chad settle into this new wilderness of parenthood, sharing his home with his best friend. Only he definitely hadn't anticipated having to deal with an attraction that left him panting and hungry as a starving man for his best friend. His gay best friend who thinks Sonny is straight, because he's never told him the full truth to preserve their friendship above all else.

Can Chad come to terms with all the challenges of fatherhood and still keep Sonny's friendship? Will either be willing to take the risk to cross that line from friendship to something more?

Countdown to DaddiesEven gay dads have pregnancy pains.

Matteo and Gabe have everything they could ever want out of life, except for a family all their own. When Gabe's twin sister offers to be their surrogate, it's a dream come true until she insists they be completely involved in the pregnancy. The new dads quickly realize they may have bitten off more than they can chew.

Family is ForeverWhile making a gift Charlotte asks her Daddy why he and Papa aren't married, leading Landon with the help of his daughters to make Father's Day one that they and Devin will never forget.

Landon and Devin have been together since Landon a children's writer read to Devin's second grade class. Now eight years later they have two beautiful daughters, Charlotte and Gracie. While making a gift for Devin for Father's Day, a happily ever after story of her Daddy and Papa, Charlotte asks Landon why her parents aren't married leading Landon and the girls to put together a special proposal in Devin's classroom on Father's Day.

When Souls CollideQuestion: What is the stupidest thing an openly gay man could do?
Answer: Move to Texas and marry a woman.

Tossed off the Golden Spur with nothing but the clothes he was wearing and his newborn son. Riley Stuart contemplates his life. He gave up everything he knew to come halfway around the world to find things don't always work out like you planned. On her deathbed his wife outs him to her family -- her very bigoted family.

Noah Johnson finds a naked man and infant in his barn. What are they doing there, and where did they come from? In the course of helping Riley get back on his feet somewhere along the way he felt their souls collide.

Waves of Gold and SmokeRichie and Gabe meet by accident---when one of Richie's two adopted sons beans Gabe in the head with a soccer ball. There's an immediate attraction---but Gabe, who's still a boy at heart, though nearing thirty, is reluctant to take on a ready-made family. That is, until he runs into Richie again and their mutual attraction takes over...

The CardThe dynamic between fathers and sons is complex, most often least understood by the players themselves. But is it the father who does not know his son, or is it the son who does not know his father?

The discovery of a Father's Day card in a box---long ago shoved into a dark corner in a cellar---provides a revelation to a son, a gay son that shatters all previous conclusions about his father. Set in Denver, the ravages of a massive flood, and the disappearance of a nine-year-old girl, provide the background for a son's coming of age, and a father's eerie ability to "...read the hunch...," that is essential to his prowess as a cop.

No joke - it's a contest!

It's no April Fool's joke - this month I'm running a contest for fans over on my Facebook page! If you'd like to win an e-book copy of the Cross Bones anthology, which includes my steampunk pirate romance "On the Wings of Lir," head over to my Facebook page and enter for a chance to win!

Contest link: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Riley-Shane/201249009932874?sk=app_190322544333196

About "On the Wings of Lir":
In the time of Queen Victoria, the invention of airships has brought about a resurgence in piracy. Of all the buccaneers who sail the skies, pillaging merchant airships, the worst is Patrick Kelly, captain of the Wings of Lir. When fate lands Captain Kelly in Hugh Edwards's path, the young lieutenant can't believe his luck. He's determined to capture the pirate...but finds himself caught instead.

About Cross Bones:
Ahoy, me proud beauty, shiver me timbers! I ask ye to sail me jollyboat on the high seas, lubber, but will ye dare to accept? On offer be a pirate's life full of danger and risk, and not just to yer neck, but to yer very virgin heart! There's many a bodice to be ripped--or perhaps I should say many a codpiece to be snapped--and should ye be graced enough to cross bones with a corsair, don't be an addlepate! Heave ho, lad, handsomely, and show him how ye bury yer treasure!

Pirates didn't only sail the high seas in historical times. Modern-day renegades and futuristic rebels are just as ripe for adventure and plunder. No matter the time, place, or circumstances, bad boys steal affection as often as they salvage treasure, and in these stories of romance, a rogue's black heart always conceals a center of gold.

Stories included:
Captain Merric by Rebecca Cohen
Rough Trade by Cooper West
Touched by the West Wind by Ellen Holiday
The Winds of Change by Maggie Lee

In the Penalty Box is now available!!!!

I never thought this day would come! Or rather, I never thought Landon would stop fighting with me and screaming and Samson would cease his stonewalling long enough that I'd be able to finish their book. As you can tell, I won the battle against my heroes (I'm sure they thank me for it now) and In the Penalty Box, is now on sale at Loose Id.

In the Penalty Box is my second Seattle Marauders story, but you don't have to have read Two-Man Advantage to enjoy Samson and Landon's book. However, if you have read Two-Man Advantage, I hope you'll be pleased to catch up with Kyle and Nate again. Kyle has a small but pivotal role in Samson's story and, of course, where Kyle goes, he drags Nate ;)

In the Penalty Box also takes you further into the world of the Seattle Marauders. You get to meet a lot of the players and man, oh man, am I looking forward to writing some more Marauders stories. Nick Foster's up next, but after that I'm not sure - the guys might be changing the order up on me.

Anyway, back to In the Penalty Box. I hope you all enjoy Samson and Landon's journey. Their road to happily ever after is a lot bumpier than Kyle and Nate's, but I think the end result is worth it.

Cover and book blurb:

For four years, writer Landon Quinn has struggled to forget the one night he spent with Seattle Marauders defenseman Gregory Samson. Then Landon’s life takes an unexpected turn, and he finds himself back in Seattle and face-to-face with the man who broke his heart.

Samson doesn’t know what he did to run Landon off all those years ago, but he’s sure Landon’s leaving was for the best. The bright, beautiful young man Landon had once been was far too adoring, far too open, for the closeted hockey player’s peace of mind. The intervening years have only made Landon an even sexier temptation -- and Landon’s return presents Samson with a whole new set of problems.

Attraction sizzles between them, but having been burned once by Samson has left Landon twice shy. Even as Samson convinces Landon to let him out of the penalty box and into his life, Samson has to face the fact that his closely guarded secrets may come to light. Caught between the ghosts of his past and the promise of a future with Landon, the hockey star must decide if now that he's come off the bench, he's ready to come out of the closet.

Happy Reading,
Riley

Cover Love: In the Penalty Box

I can't believe it's only FOUR days until my second Seattle Marauders book, In the Penalty Box, releases O_O

Once again, the fabulous April Martinez has designed the cover art for my book, and boy has she done a fabulous job. Check out the cover and blurb for In the Penalty Box below:

Victorian Valentine is now available!!!

Looking for something sweet this Valentine's Day? My newest story, Victorian Valentine, is now on sale at MLR Press!

Victorian Valentine was such a fun story to write. It's my first foray into historical romance (unless you count On the Wings of Lir, which is steampunk set in the Victorian era) and - like my other MLR Press titles - Victorian Valentine is sweet, in that it has no on-page sex. I hope you enjoy reading about Christopher's Valentine's Day journey as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Below are the book blurb and cover for Victorian Valentine:

February 14, 1860:

When Lord Christopher Norcutt finds a valentine in his bedroom, he believes it must have been left there by mistake; fourth sons of earls who prefer the company of other men are not the sort to attract admirers. But the secret valentine only marks the beginning of an unusual day for Christopher. As Christopher sets off to fulfill an obligation to his brother, a second valentine comes into his possession — this one discovered in a place that has meaning only to Christopher and his lover, Jack Ashton. Does a Valentine’s Day surprise await Christopher at the end of his journey?

Book News: Victorian Valentine

I can't believe it's almost the end of January - the month has flown by in a flurry of work (which I can't complain about ;)). Anyway, if the stores in your town are anything like the stores in mine, a surfeit of pink, red, and white has been announcing for some time that Valentine's Day is approaching. And this Valentine's season happens to be special to me because it marks the publication of my first historical romance, Victorian Valentine!

That's right - I'm jumping into another genre. Why? Well, first I chose to do so so because I love all subgenres of romance. Second, the Victorian Era marked the height of the valentines craze which made it too tempting for me to resist writing about it. Victorian Valentine almost wasn't written because I got so caught up researching valentines in the late 1800s.

Victorian Valentine is releasing February 10th at MLR Press. It's a male/male romance that takes place in 1860. Like my other MLR Press releases, Victorian Valentine is a sweet story (no on-page sex).

Check back here in the coming weeks for a book blurb and also fun facts about Valentine's Day in the 19th century :)

Book News: In the Penalty Box

Happy New Year!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a joyful beginning to 2012. I’m back at my desk, typing so madly that even The Fuzzy Critic is giving me wary looks – felines just don’t get deadlines.

I wanted to take a moment to share some very exciting book news. In the Penalty Box, my second Seattle Marauders book, is coming out March 6th at Loose Id! In the Penalty Box is an erotic male/male contemporary romance, featuring Marauders defenseman Gregory Samson and a writer by the name of Landon Quinn. It’s got more darkness and angst than my usual work, but (in my not-so-unbiased opinion) the HEA makes the journey worth it - I hope you all agree.

If you haven’t read the first Seattle Marauders story, Two-Man Advantage, In the Penalty Box can be read as a standalone. For readers who enjoyed Two-Man Advantage…well, let’s just say that Kyle has a small but pivotal role in In the Penalty Box ;)

Happy Reading,
Riley
